A NEW ERA: Carbon Pigment Printing

This revolutionary approach is changing the field of black and white photography. Carbon prints offer spectacular tonal range and the best longevity of any digital printing option. They must be seen to be truly appreciated. If you are a silver gelatin printer you will be delighted at the possibilities this technology makes possible.

Images are rendered from your digital files utilizing 3 to 4 different shades of carbon pigment using either Ultrachrome K3 or Cone Quadtones on Epson 9800, 7600 or 9000 wide format printers. They rival silver gelatin prints in tonal range and longevity. Sheet size includes borders of your choice. For all prints margins of .25" are required on top and sides and .75 at the bottom.

We offer 2 types of print service. Click on either for details:

You supply the finished file, we do the printing. This category also includes all reprints.
We customize your scan or digital camera file and supply the prints.
Our Inks
We print using the Epson Ultrachrome K3 or Cone Quadtone ink. Ultrachrome K3 is color tonable in most any color. Cone Quadtones are offered in 2 different tones. One is similar to a Selenium-toned silver gelatin print, the other slightly warmer, towards sepia, but subtly so.
