| Our scans are produced on a ScanMate 11000 PMT drum scanner. Negatives, transparencies and reflective media (prints) up to 8.5"x11" can be scanned. For film we use a wetmount process that extracts maximum density range and detail from the image. For this we utilize Kami Mounting Fluid, which is completely safe for photographic emulsions. All scans are output as RGB files on CD, or we can save to your Zip disk, USB or Firewire drive, all at no additonal cost. The ScanMate 11000 is revered in the industry as one of the finest drum scanners ever manufactured. It features: |

| The Scanning Process: We employ highly evolved scan software in order to produce top quality output. We carefully set white and black points, establish contrast and monitor color accuracy by calibrating to it8 targets. Files are saved into Adobe RBG 98 space, which is one of the widest available. There is a great deal of control possible in the scanning process and the quality of your finished prints is directly affected by choices made by the operator. If you send us negatives for scanning and have previously printed your image, whether by digital or traditional photographic means, we encourage you to include a proof. This will enable us to customize the contrast of your scan to your needs. We will get as close as possible to your sample while still maintaining the scale you need to carry subtle detail into your finished prints. Virtually all scanners scan grayscale in RGB. Some convert to grayscale internally, but it is usually preferrable to accomplish this in Photoshop afterwards. For this reason we output black and white negatives as RGB at the filesize or dpi you require. For Carbon Pigment prints, we highly recommend at least 300 dpi at output size. Note that RGB files drop to 1/3 of their filesize when converted to grayscale. We take every precaution with your originals, and will return them to you packaged safely by Federal Express or other carrier of your choice. |

| To figure your scan cost, start by finding the BASE COST for your required file size. Next multiply the ADD ON amount by the appropriate number of megabytes, and add this to the BASE COST. Below are some selected examples: | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
